William S. Burroughs is one of my literary idols. I truly miss his intellect, craziness and insight, especially in these time of reduced privacy, ever-increasing government control, bank bailouts and a useless war on terrorism. Mr. Burroughs was an enigma. No one ever truly knew the man, despite his voluminous output of literary classics.

Photographer Peter Ross was recently given access to William Burroughs’ apartment in New York, which has remained in perfect shape since Burroughs died in 1997. With the access, Peter Ross photographed many personal possessions of William Burroughs, offering fans like myself a little insight into this literary man of mystery.

My personal favorite is the photograph of the book “The Medical Implications of Karate Blows.”

So Burroughs.
