In an amazing display of honor and integrity possibly extinct amongst American businesses, Toyota Motor Corp. CEO and President Akio Toyoda declined to accept an award from the Japanese Government for the Prius model’s energy efficiency. The Prius was one of 3 products selected this year to receive the Grand Prize for Energy Efficiency and Ecological Quality from Japan’s Trade Minister.
Referring to the recent voluntary recall of 437,000 Prius for possible brake problems, Toyota spokesman Paul Nolasco said, “We declined to accept the award because we thought it was not appropriate.” Toyota made the decision to recall the Prius amongst the recent recall of a total of 8.5 million other Toyota autos after receiving only 200 complaints total in both the U.S. and Japan of the hybrid experiencing a braking delay in very specific cold weather conditions over very bumpy roads.
SEGA has inadvertently let the proverbial cat-out-of-the-bag about Sonic the Hedgehog’s future game appearances, evidenced by the graphic above that was located on the official Sonic 4 website. The image reveals two important elements, including a release date (July 2010) and available platforms, which include the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and the long-rumored and now confirmed, iPhone (and iPad).
Proof can be found here, though the image has apparently been removed by undoubtedly embarrassed representatives of SEGA.
If Borderlands is your thing then you’ll be pleased to know that new DLC is on the way, bigger and better than the previous two installments. Gearbox is promising the level cap will rise but have yet to indicate how high. Titled The Secret Armory of General Knox, Gearbox explains “brutal, never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions, entirely new weapons and items.”
Yum.
No price, no date, no more details…except for two exclusive pics!
Koei Tecmo has released a trailer for the forthcoming Fist of the North Star Musou, which appears to be along the lines of Dynasty Warriors. On the upside, First of the North Star Musou is based on a manga of the same name and will hopefully find some additional gameplay ideas besides the typically barren Dynasty Warriors model.
Koei Tecmo has yet to indicate whether First of the North Star Musou will be heading towards western shores, though a planned March 10 release is still a go for Asia.
Set in a post-apocalyptic version of Earth sometime near the end of the 20th century, a nuclear war has left the world in ruins, causing the oceans to evaporate and destroying most of the world’s vegetation. Most of earth’s survivors include villagers who try to thrive on what little resources they have and the numerous vicious gangs and tribes who prey on them. A martial artist named Kenshiro, a man with seven scars on his chest and the chosen successor of the legendary assassin’s artHokuto Shinken(?????, The Divine Fist of the North Star) has sworn to protect the weak and innocent from the malicious gangsters that threaten their survival. Accompanied by two young children named Bat and Lin, Ken confronts numerous violent gangs through his journey. Eventually Ken faces his adoptive brothers who were also trained in the art of Hokuto Shinken, as well as the six top masters of the Nanto Seiken(?????, The Sacred Fist of the South Star) school. His ultimate adversary is his eldest brother Raoh, a would-be world conqueror who broke the Hokuto Shinken law by refusing to give up the style.
Several years after Ken defeats Raoh, he returns to help his former sidekicks Bat and Lin, now leader of the Hokuto Army, to fight off against the tyranny of the Heavenly Emperor’s Army led by the Acting Governor Jakoh. Not long after Jakoh’s defeat, Lin is kidnapped and Ken is forced to travel to the Land of Shura (????,Shura no Kuni?) to rescue her, a land of Warriors ruled by Kaioh, who uses the style of Hokuto Ry?ken(?????, The North Star Lapis Lazuli Fist), a malicious counterpart to Ken’s Hokuto Shinken. After defeating Kaioh and rescuing Lin, Ken wanders off into the desert, continuing his journey.
