Revolt is a twin-stick shooter (or twin-thumbs if you’re a stickler for accuracy) featuring some of the best graphics yet on the iPhone. Gameplay appears pretty solid for this type of genre and the feature list is very promising. Perhaps most impressive is that Revolt was made by only two people over 10 months of time.

Features:

  • 8 Story Levels and 20 Survival Arenas
  • 15 Weapons
  • 8 Unique Enemy Types
  • Weapon and Armor Upgrades
  • Advanced Gameplay
  • Destructible Environments
  • 3 Difficulty Modes
  • Kickass 3d Graphics
  • Killer Music and Sound Effects
  • High Score Leaderboard

Sid Meier, the greatest strategy game designer in existence, is working on his latest brainchild, Civilization V. Details about what makes Civilization V so different from previous installments remain elusive, though we do know the world will be presented with a hexagonal map, sport a new combat system, expand your diplomatic options and undoubtedly add a ton of features long in demand by Civ fanatics. Unfortunately, this debut trailer is pretty useless as you will find no gameplay footage, just CGI renders who sole purpose is to get you excited for a more proper trailer down the road.

Feast Your Eyes on the Napoleon: Total War Multiplayer Trailer

Empire: Total War was a great game….one year after it was released, patched and somewhat fixed. Many of us hardcore fans are still awaiting for promised features, like a multiplayer campaign. Meanwhile, Creative Assembly has been working on their follow-up game, Napoleon: Total War, which just so happens to feature a multiplayer campaign.

It is generally believed a major patch will be released for Empire: Total War that adds key multiplayer features from Napoleon, so perhaps Creative Assembly hasn’t abandoned us after all. We’ll see.

Meanwhile, here is a trailer that shows off the multiplayer aspect of Napoleon: Total War:

New Final Fantasy XIII Trailer Makes Me Feel Like a Girly-Man

Square-Enix has released a brand new trailer for Final Fantasy XIII and it features a new theme song by Leona Lewis. Now look, I’ll go on record as saying that I’m not the biggest Japanese RPG fan on the planet. I find the writing generally awful, the acting typically bad and the gameplay usually leans heavy on redundancy. This new trailer does nothing to minimize my fears and, in fact, elevates the game to new heights of….how to say this without without seeming homophobic….femininity? Is that more acceptable than “gay”? Or, in the words of the Governator, this new trailer makes me feel like a “girly man”.

I can no longer envision myself purchasing Final Fantasy XIII from a store where people might see me.

This trailer is painful in a way only the Japanese have mastered: shmaltzy music, grunts and groans and insufferable dialog.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go chop down a tree or engage in some kind of activity that makes me feel like a real man.
