The resurrection of Mickey Rourke’s career continues to expand, as Bethesda Softworks, best known for Fallout 3 and Oblivion, has announced Mr. Rourke will be lending his voice talents to Rogue Warrior.

From USA Today:

Rourke will voice the role of Marcinko, the leader of an elite Navy SEAL unit who must disrupt a suspected ballistic missile program in North Korea.

On the game’s official Web page, Bethesda says Rogue Warrior will differentiate itself in the crowded FPS arena by introducing a freeform battlefield, where players can freely complete missions any way they choose, ” rather than heavily scripted events and tightly contained spaces traditionally used in this genre.”  Bethesda also says the game will include a Brutal Kill system with 25 fatal attacks.

The past few months have found endless speculation about who would be cast in the Iron Man sequel, but now matters are coming into focus. For awhile it was looking like Emily Blunt of Juno fame would be taking on the role of Black Widow, but a scheduling conflict has voided that possibility. Stepping into her shoes will be Scarlett Johannson, who will also be assuming the role in an Avengers movie.

The casting of Scarlet follows another deal, this time with Mickey Rourke who will play the role of Iron Man’s Russian counterpart, albeit one of a villainous nature.

Do these casting choices get you all excited or fill you with dread?
