Public Enemies is shaping up to be one of the must-see films of 2009. Why? Many reasons, not the least of which is director Michael Mann’s track-record in creating such movies as Heat, The Insider and the classic Manhunter. Add to this what will undoubtedly be another great performance by Johnny Depp and Christian Bale as John Dillinger and Melvin Purvis and you have a solid-looking gangster movie that harkins back to Brian DePalma’s The Untouchables.
