SCOPE OF PRIVACY POLICY

InfoAddict, LLC ( a Delaware limited liability company) and its website InfoAddict.com (jointly referred to herein as “InfoAddict”) are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how InfoAddict treats your personal information, including statistics related to your use of the InfoAddict.com website (“Site”) and our services (“Services”). Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that InfoAddict does not own or control, or to people that we do not employ or manage. 

As a condition of using our Site and Services, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy (“Policy”). Additional terms and conditions which govern your use of our Site and Services are contained in our User Agreement, and, as applicable, in certain other service-specific license agreements or terms of use, which you will be notified of at the time of your registration for the applicable services.

You acknowledge that this Policy may change over time. If we make a material change to the terms of this Policy, we will give you 30 days notice of those changes ("Notice Period") through reasonably prominent disclosure. However, you should check this Policy regularly for these and other important announcements. Your continued use of our Site and Services following the Notice Period will signify that you agree to these changes.

When you register for membership on our Site, we will ask you for certain minimum required information, such as your user name, birth year, gender, email address and zip code. We may also ask for additional information about you and your interests.  For some of our Services we may also ask for your address, Social Security number, and credit card information. Once you register with InfoAddict and access our Services, you are not anonymous to us.  We do this so we can better understand your preferences and tailor our Site and Services to better serve you. The more information you volunteer, the more we can tailor our Site and Services to your interests. Additionally, third-party service providers may require you to assent to their privacy party as a condition to receiving their service.

We collect personally identifiable information when you provide it to us. We collect your information when you register with InfoAddict, when you use our Site and Services, when you submit tips, articles, graphics, videos, ratings, comments, when you subscribe to third party services, and when you enter polls, contests, promotions or sweepstakes. InfoAddict may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.  InfoAddict collects information about your use of our Site and Services, and transactions with us and with some of our business partners.  InfoAddict also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and the pages you visit.

InfoAddict uses the above referenced information for the following general purposes: to customize and improve our Site and Services, customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients.

Naturally, the aggregate statistics that describe our online audience, which is often based on the information you provide when you subscribe, register, or browse our Site, help us sell advertising and otherwise publicize InfoAddict and its brands. The information we share under these circumstances does not contain behavioral or identifying information about any individual user, unless the individual has given us permission to share that information.

We may send you emails on behalf of our advertisers. If you opt to receive information from our advertisers they may use your personal information to send you advertisements or other notices, via email or postal mail, and it is possible that your information may be shared with others.

We conduct email and web-delivered surveys from time to time, as well as instant polls, to gather information about our users. Taking these surveys and polls is entirely optional. You have no obligation to respond to them. We share only the aggregate results of these surveys, not personal information, with our advertisers and partners to help them better understand our services and monitor the reach of their advertising or other offerings on our service. We also use some of the personal information that you provide in these surveys to help us understand your interests and to make our Site and Services more useful to you.

When you purchase products or services from or through our Site we may require personal information such as name, address, telephone number and billing information, including credit card, debit card or bank account data. We will not disclose your personal information, including billing information, except to the extent necessary to complete your transaction, for example during an online purchase or where needed to deliver a product or service you ordered.  We automatically update software used in conjunction with certain of our Services. In order to update this software we may collect a user's current version information from the user's computer. This information is not archived and is only used to determine which software requires updating. We may record audio conversations or copy text chat or video images from comments or chat rooms on our Site and may disclose such material for use in connection with promoting our Site and Services.

We may gather and store information about which pages and which Site you visit and other information presented in your browser's URL address line. We use this information to help determine what our users are most interested in. We may share information that is not personal in nature -- meaning non-personal, aggregate, or summary, information regarding our users -- with other third parties not mentioned in this Policy. This kind of information does not identify you individually.

We also provide information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with InfoAddict under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help InfoAddict communicate with you about offers from InfoAddict and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of all or substantially all of its assets, or the sale of an individual website owned by InfoAddict , we may transfer your personal information to a third party as a part of such merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale.

We may also disclose personal information in cases when we reasonably believe that it is necessary to identify someone who may be violating our policies or our User Agreements or other terms of use, or who may be a threat to InfoAddict or third party rights, property, or personal safety. We may also disclose personal information to comply with valid legal process such as a duly issued search warrant, subpoena or court order.

InfoAddict is not responsible for the information you volunteer about yourself in the course of commenting on articles, discussions in our forums, chat rooms, or other forms of publicly accessible interaction, or information that you choose to make public in your member profile. As a member, you can view, correct or change your publicly available information at any time via your member profile page.  Personally identifiable information you provide as a subscriber to newsletters is not shared with anyone except on an aggregate, statistical basis, except for the purposes of fulfillment and email deployment.

InfoAddict contains comment sections. We do not actively monitor user comments, which are intended for  entertainment purposes only. If we are alerted to something we deem inappropriate in any way, we may delete it at our discretion.

InfoAddict frequently links to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or business practices of these websites. When you leave InfoAddict we encourage you to read the destination site's privacy policy. Our Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by InfoAddict.

The InfoAddict web Site is not intended for use by individuals under age 13, and no one under age 13 is allowed to provide any personal information or use our public comments sections, discussion areas, forums, or contribute tips or content to our Site or Services.  Minors under the age of 18 are prohibited from making purchases, including subscriptions, on our Site. We also urge parents to instruct their children never to give out their real names, addresses or phone numbers without parental permission when using the Internet.

We provide customer lists and other information to third party companies who provide specialized services, such as email message deployment, merge-purge (identifying and removing duplicate addresses) of lists, postal mailing, subscription fulfillment, customer service and telemarketing, research, statistical analysis, and other data processing. These companies work on our behalf and we do not provide our lists or other data to them for their own, permanent, use.

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information that many web Site store on your computer's hard drive when you visit them. They don't tell us who you are unless you've specifically given us personally identifiable information. Cookies stored on your hard drive by InfoAddict are not accessible to other Sites.

Like many other web sites, InfoAddict uses cookies to improve your experience with our online content. For example, we may use a cookie to identify members so they don't have to re-enter a user id and password when they wish to download a utility or post a tip, comment, or rating. As another example, cookies can be used to control the number of times you see advertisements, like pop-ups. By allowing us to better understand how users interact with the site over time, cookies also help us improve your experience and deliver more relevant content to you. Cookies may be created directly by our Site for these purposes, or by third-party companies operating on our behalf. However, our cookies do not contain any information that is, in itself, personally identifying. Some of our advertisers occasionally serve you cookies as well. We do not have control over cookies placed by advertisers. You need not have cookies turned on to visit our Site, though cookies may be required in order for you to participate in certain areas. If you choose to become a member of our InfoAddict web site, you must have cookies enabled to access any member related pages (i.e. Discussion Boards, Member Profile pages, Search for a Member).

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but allow you to modify security settings so you can approve or reject cookies on a case-by-case basis.

Pixel Tags

Like many web sites, InfoAddict may also use pixel tags, also known as beacons, spotlight tags or web bugs, to improve our understanding of site traffic, visitor behavior, and response to promotional campaigns, as a supplement to our server logs and other methods of traffic and response measurement. Pixel tags are sometimes used in conjunction with small Javascript-based applications, also for the purpose of traffic measurement. We may also implement pixel tags provided by other companies, for the same purpose. You can disable pixel tags by changing your browser settings to omit images and disable Javascript; or there are commercial software packages available that can omit pixel tags and most advertisements.

Online Ad Serving

InfoAddict uses third-party advertising service companies to serve advertisements when you visit our Site. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, or any other information you've provided us) about your visits to our Site and Services in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. For this purpose, these companies use cookies and may use pixel tags.  Several companies provide email deployment services for our email messages. The personally identifiable information, such as e-mail address, we provide to these vendors for the purposes of e-mail deployment is only used by them for that purpose and not for any other business activity.

Some of our advertisers use third-party companies to serve their advertisements on our Site and, in some cases, in our HTML-formatted newsletters. Often, these third-party advertising companies employ cookie and pixel tag technologies to measure the effectiveness of Web and e-mail advertisements. We do not give any personally identifiable information to them as part of this relationship. Use of their tracking technology is subject to their own privacy policies.

When you use a co-branded service within our network of sites, or register or otherwise provide information on a co-branded site, you grant us permission to pass the information collected back to that service or site partner. Their use of your information is subject to their applicable privacy policies.

You can edit your InfoAddict Profile information, including your preferences at any time. You can also delete your InfoAddict account by visiting your profile account page.

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the InfoAddict Service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and InfoAddict Newsletters that are considered part of your InfoAddict account, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.

You can also opt-in to various other newsletter mailing lists, or remove yourself at any time through the subscription management page (this page will display all of your newsletter subscriptions) or by following the instructions at the end of the newsletters you receive. Please allow 3-5 business days for changes to take effect.

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect personal information about you. We use reasonable precautions to keep the personal information you disclose to us secure and to only release this information to third parties we believe share our commitment to privacy. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for the actions of these parties.

Your personal information is stored on our computer servers, or on servers of our service providers. We protect your personal information with technical, administrative and physical safeguards to protect against loss, unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, modification and improper disclosure. No computer system or information can ever be fully protected against every possible hazard. But we are committed to providing reasonable and appropriate security controls to protect our Site and Services and all personal information against foreseeable hazards.  Notwithstanding these security measures, please be aware that when you submit personal information to our Site over the Internet, the information may travel over many systems that are not under our control. We take the protection of user data very seriously and to that end take reasonable safeguards to prevent interception of any personal information. In the case of shopping pages, for example, the credit card information you submit is protected by secure servers.

This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time. Any modifications to our privacy policy will be reflected first on this page, so check back often. If there is a significant change, we will place a prominent notice on our site.
