Lakers Championship Ring on eBay
Ever wanted an NBA championship ring without going through all the trouble of actually playing for a winning team? Today's your lucky day then, as an authentic championship ring from the Los Angeles Lakers 1999-2000 season has popped up on eBay, for the small starting sum of $22,500. Here's the description straight from the auction:
One authentic 1999-2000 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring. This ring was designed and crafted by "Henry Kay Jewelers" and comes in its original rosewood presentation case with personalized plaque. This is a large ring by normal standards but is considered to be a "ladies-size" since it is size 8 1/2. Per the authenticity certificate (hand-signed by the president of Henry Kay Jewelers) that accompanies the ring, the ring weighs approximately 25dwt. The top of the ring contains 10 diamonds weighing about .04Ct. The top is paveed with 27 brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately .50Ct. and are set in a 14Kt. White gold plate. On the bezel of the ring the words, "World Champions" are cut out. The word Lakers is on top of the diamonds. On one side of the ring the person's name is cut out. This is the name of the person who originally received the ring in the Lakers Organization. On this side you also have the NBA logo and the season and playoff records of the Lakers. On the other side of the ring you have the NBA Championship trophy with a .05Ct. brilliant cut diamond bezel set. The diamond on this side is the basketball and the triangle in the background represents the "triangle-offense". The words "Bling Bling" are on this side with the triangle in the background. The year 2000 is also cut out on this side.
Full payment is immediately required at close of auction via PAYPAL or cashier's check. The ring is located within Los Angeles County and can be delivered in person at an agreed upon location.
Now the real question becomes, who does the ring belong to? Of the players on the 1999-2000 team, my money's on Robert Horry hocking a ring. The dude's got seven, plus he's got to start getting his finances in order for retirement. It will interesting to see if the auction stays up or ends up pulled.
