Bidding starts at 12pm noon today on a very large collection of props and artifacts from the likes of Amelia Earhart, Michael Jackson and Stan Winston. We’ve included a more complete list below, but some particular items worth noting are Gus Grissom’s space flight suit, Michael Jackson’s glittery white glove, a full-scale male T-Rex head from Jurassic Park, multiple Terminator endoskeletons, Kirk’s Starfleet uniform from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Michael Keaton’s Batman costume, a 17-foot Bumblebee from Transformers, and even Predator, Ghostbusters, He-Man and Freddy Kreuger memorabilia.

Michael Jackson’s iconic illuminating white glove, adorned with crystals from his “Suit of Lights” worn on stage during The Jackson’s Victory Tour ($60,000-$80,000), Elvis Presley’s personal Martin D-28 guitar stage-used in his final Las Vegas performance ($60,000-$80,000), Amelia Earhart’s original flight goggles worn during her historic 1932 record-breaking solo transatlantic flight ($100,000-$150,000), Michael Keaton hero “Batman” costume and display from Batman Returns ($60,000-$80,000), Astronaut Gus Grissom’s worn Mercury flight suit ($40,000-$60,000) and Christopher Reeve hero evil Superman suit from Superman III ($30,000-$50,000) highlight just some of the 1,000+ iconic pieces of Hollywood and world history that Profiles in History, the world’s leading auctioneer of Hollywood memorabilia will offer on October 8-9, 2009. Other featured items include 85 lots representing the most iconic characters ever created for film by multiple Academy Award-winner Stan Winston, including those from the Jurassic Park, Terminator and Predator film franchises, with a cumulative value of over $1,000,000, part of the proceeds of which will go to fund the new Stan Winston Visual Effects Scholarship at The University of Southern California. 52 lots of visual effects pieces from multiple Academy Award-winner Richard Edlund will also be featured, including those from Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark films, 2010, Masters of the Universe and more.

This unique auction will also feature 49 lots of props and set pieces inspired by the vivid and unique imagination of writer, director, producer and illustrator Tim Burton, representing films including The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Sleepy Hollow and Corpse Bride.
