Kevin Smith, despite not making a successful movie since…since…when was that? Has he ever? Clerks? That was a ton of years ago. He makes you laugh? Makes me cringe.  I don’t know, he comes across as a complete amateur with unfortunate access to film equipment and funding.  Now he appears to be trying his hand at “accessibility”, a fancy word for ’selling out’, as if you needed further evidence given the existence of Jersey Girl.

Anyway, Cop Out is Kevin Smith’s latest forgettable movie. It’s a buddy-cop movie, a genre of film the Earth hasn’t wanted for 20 years but apparently Kevin senses a resurgence is afoot. It stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, which is trouble right there.

Plot?

Two longtime NYPD partners on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster. Jimmy (Bruce Willis) is the veteran detective whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter’s upcoming wedding, and Paul (Tracy Morgan) is his “partner-against-crime” whose preoccupation with his wife’s alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball.

You actually want a trailer? You need help. You’ll need to head to Apple if you want to suffer.

Thanks for saying what I've been thinking for years! I don't know why people still like this guy! Everytime someone says, "Oooh, new kevin smith movie coming out!" I'm all, "Pssshhhh" and they're all, "Dude, you don't like kevin smith? Dude, Clerks." I made the mistake of going to see Zack and Miri in the theaters thinking I'd give him another chance... cause I mean hey, he made clerks right? Lame. At least M. Night had us all going for quite a while with a couple good movies after Sixth Sense before showing us what little talent he actually has. I can say I did like kevin smith when I was in 8th grade... but that's who his movies appeal to... stupid 8th grade boys. I guess they buy enough tickets to fund the next dump kevin squeezes out for public consumption.P.S. Does Bruce Willis have any pride?
