
If you were holding out hope for a live-action remake of the classic anime Akira, then prepare for disappointment, as Bloody-Disgusting is reporting the project is no more.
Apparently the attached director, Ruairi Robinson, is no longer working on the project. Akira was to be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way with distribution through Warner Brothers. No details on what happened or why they project never seemed to get forward momentum. Perhaps, in the grand scheme of things, it’s just as well.
